Srengseng Sawah Suspension Bridge Construction Awaits for BBWSCC

Suspension bridge construction in Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta is still waiting for Ciliwung-Cisadane Flood Control Office (BBWSCC) recommendation.

Later on , Bina Marga Dept. and project manager will ask BBSWCC for construction recommendation letter

Because that bridge which connects South Jakarta with Depok is located above Ciliwung River which is under central government authority.

South Jakarta Vice Mayor, Arifin informed, Jakarta Bina Marga Dept. will ask for BBWSCC recommendation since Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds will be used for its construction.

"Later on, Bina Marga Dept. and project manager will ask BBSWCC for construction recommendation letter," he said, Thursday (1/25).

He hopes recommendation letter from BBWSCC could be accepted and construction could be started soon. Construction cost is estimated around Rp 400 million.

"Before we construct it, we need recommendation because this bridge across two regions, South Jakarta and Depok,"he mentioned.

Meanwhile, Depok Public Work and Spatial Planning Dept. Head, Manto explained, new bridge will have around 50 meters long and 2 meters wide. Its construction needs around four months to complete.

"Resident activities will not be disturbed during construction because former bridge is still usable," he stated.

BBWSCC Committing Officer (PPK) for River and Beach Region II, Fajar Faisal mentioned, recommendation submission is according to Public Work and Public Housing Ministry Regulation (PUPR) No 1/2016.

"If we receive complete documents, we could accelerate its process for two weeks to one month. As long as all requirements can be fulfilled," he stated.

He instructs to wait for recommendation letter before starting bridge construction. But dredging and marking land are allowed.
